Nice car. Tend to seem rapid due to the torque, but not actually that quick (about as quick as the 1.4 petrol).
Very good on fuel! Wouldnt bother with one if you only drive round town though, power delivery is anoying, and gear ratios are too long (4th a 30 is a tad over 1k rpm and 3rd is 2.5 so ded sensitive on throttle)
The sri's are smart though and good for long, decent speeds!

And what mpg do you get Dave?
I must admit I do love the Polo.

Does remapping the ecu to give better torque/hp/thrill factor decrease the MPG in anyway? Logic would say yes, but im not technical with these things, so i'm not sure if the MPG is unaffected, i'll look into this for my derv

If that isn't a typo, that's a bit overprice for the DTi imho.
I want a 1.7CDTi SRi as well

the way thing's are going with fuel prices it would be just as effective to run a 1.4 sri or even 1.8
i didnot lose power at all, i gained but just did not gained what was quoted, and i gained lot and lots of torque just not so much power and yes the denso ecu can not be rempaed
just for the record i gained 15bhp and 47lbs ft, but it totaly changed the way the car drives
