i was booting it in 3rd gear lastnight and when i slowed down the engine created a bad ticking noise. i drove 2 mile down the road and the noise got worse. i took the rocker cover off turned the engine over and the noise seemed to be coming from a valve what could it possibly be?
if i have bent a valve would it effect the piston??

As a guess, your oil is low so a lifter is tapping.

thats what i thought but there is no oil light on the dash,and the noise is coming from 1 or 2 valves from what i can gather

oil light on the dash will only turn on when you have got below a serten oil pressure, check your oil level, other than that you could have injector taping.
