Is it possible to do this?
I need to install some software onto my computer which is Vista compatible when you install a recent service pack, however I need to install the old version before being able to install the service pack to make it compatible... The installer wont let me do this though because it thinks that this software is still Vista incompatible....

It can be done not sure if it works with EXEs
I know this is for itunes but it shows you how to edit the installer so it doesnt check for the windows version.

If it's an MS Installer EXE then you can use Orca IIRC. Otherwise, get a hold of the program that created it like InstallShield.

I've done it before with Orca to install 4OD a while back... It's got it's own installation program and doesn't use Installsheld.

Try running the Installer in compatibility mode? I can't remember if it even works like that.

Tried that one. I need to somehow bypass the check or make the installer think that its actually installing onto another os...
