When i'm driving with people in the back there is a scraping kind of noise as i pull away and go over speedbumps. It doesn't sound heathy at all. I have a 1997 corsa vegas if that helps and the old owners used to go diving so there tanks [a lot of wait] was in the boot/back. Can this have something to do with it? Could it be the wheels grinding against the wheel arch with the extra wait? Or could the suspention of softened over time so with wait in the back it rides a lot lower as there isn't any resistance? I havn't lowered her and she still has the standered wheels on. As i don't want to do anything like that till this is sorted.

its the same with mine. it isnt the wheels. as far as i know its the exhaust hitting the axel. personally i think i need new suspension or somthing. i could be wrong though

Well i'm looking for a new back box at the moment at the standered is way too quiat  so i'll defanatly look under the car and check to see that non of the pipes are loose as there was a metal kind of bang the other day if that makes sence

This noise is usually down to the g clamp on the backbox hitting the axel, try loosening this off and twisting it so the bolts face upwards that should help. Also while your there check how low the pipe hangs above the axel if its really low the bang the backbox on more and it will clear the axel better. Hope this helps mate

thanks for your help guys. I looked under my car quickly today as i got out of it out side my mates house and the pipe that runs from the middle box to the back box curves towords the grown slightly its lower than the rest of the car could it be this? and would it be eserly swisted upwords?
