Remove rear arches, trim/hack around 8 inches along the top of the arch off leaving just enough to bond the arches back on and possibly slighty pull arches out........ i think
Getting the right rubber is v important.

Sound more like ET35 to me.

Do they sit right out of the arches?

My old wheels were offset 38 so didnt even think about lowering it on them. Might just be a very wide rim causing it to rub the inner arches on the front, a mate of mine had to cut the plastic inner linning in a few places. But for the rear arch work check out the Haynes moddifying quide..... its all in there

i have ET38s down 60mm
-remove the plastic arch
-trim the metal lip back
-use a hammer to tap the metal outwards (2-3mm or so, without cracking the paint)
-treat/paint the fresh metal edge
-put the plastic arch back on
-job done(?)

i get a little scrub on mine with passengers but that's all.
