Ok had a look at fitting a catch tank today but dont know which pipe goes where. Any one with a clear picture of where the three pipes from cam cover should go ie catch tank, filter ?

Small one from cam cover to inlet manifold
Medium one i dont know
Large one at front goes to the air intake pipe

Any help welcome

The catch tank should be fitted in the pipe that goes from the rocker over to the inlet pipe. Cut that pipe and extend it to where ever you mount the catch tank

Thanks for your reply. Already guessed and done it but nothing in there so far. the pipe runs up then down to the bottle should this affect it?

ideally you still want this pipe to be under vacuum. I'd have it running from cam cover to the inlet but with a catch tank in the middle to stop oil getting into the inlet.

like this idea

Not sure what you mean about having the pipe under vacuum becaus ebreather pipes just go to the inlet or atmosphere, never any vacuum involved or you would be sucking oil and vapour out the breathers.

Dont worry that theres nothing in the tank yet, it should take a while to fill up but as long as its in the pipe going to the inlet manifold then it will be stopping most of the oil getting into the inlet

exactly, so they are under vacuum. This is done for a reason, it keeps your oil in better condition for longer. Obviously doesn't make a difference for people like Dave that have their engine in bits every weekend kissing and hugging the parts

The main breather on a 16xe is under no vacuum, as it mounts to the inlet pipe on the "outside" of the throttle body.
