Been looking into getting a new TV, and seen,
Samsung 40"1080p, and a LG 42"1080p, both LCD for aronud the £650 mark.
Which one would be better in your opinion

what's the difference between a 1080p and a normal lcd?

You can buy LCDs at 720p and 1080p running in HD, LCD standard run at 520 lines i think or something like that

I just bought a Samsung 40" LCD, tis HD ready so must be 720p......paid £565 for mine

possibly mate, i only want a 1080 coz ive got a PS3 so would be nice to get the best picture possible

Samsung screen quality is far superior to LG. A mate works for a company called Nippon in Cardiff, he develops screens for industry and knows his stuff. He reccomended I get the samsung and it is fantastic.

If you knew what you were on about you would know Sony and Samsung share the exact same panels as they are made at the same factory in Korea, then shipped out to Sony and Samsung to be installed into the TVs. They are made under the S-LCD corporation which is a joint company of both Sony and Samsung.

90% of the games available only run at 720 anyway lol
