A bigger disk will improve braking power slightly. If you think that a brake works a bit like a lever. Moment = force x distance from fulcrum. Your fulcrum is essentially the centre of the hub. But as force is a component of moment and the distances involved are pretty short you do need a more powerfull caliper to make the most of the larger disks.

i went from 2ltr brakes to 2ltr brakes on the big disc kit and thought they were alot better .. they also worked better for me than the v6s i had on after
