i would do it when you do cambelt kit etc

It's a lot of other stuff though phil

ARP's (Rod + flywheel)
Billet Lightened Flywheel
LUK clutch
New lifters
All new gaskets
Oil pump
Cool running stat


Plus I already have:
Cambelt kit
Water pump

if its a std XE isnt it just easier/cheaper running it to death then replacing with another running one?

cheaper for sure.... wont take much to just swap a like for like engine

rebuilt your current one with bits from vauxhall, much cheaper

AK's right, cheaper to just blow up the bugger, and buy another £250 engine..

Unless your tuning in the future, in which case i'd just hold onto all the kit until your ready to build the engine totally.

Really? If so I may have to pop down there All the pumps and gaskets you mean?

I did intend on tuning it a little in the near future Nothing major though

but yeah, I know the history of this engine, and could easily get in contact with lee who's maintained it since rich bought his XE

when you take a pump apart there really is nothing to them, been suggested to me that

1) some of the motorfactor pumps are shit
2) you can rebuild a vauxhall one for less than a new pump

Oh I see! The oil pump was £70 on chris astley (that's where I was ordering everything from)


Tbh it all seems reasonable in my eyes, but the flywheel is just sub £200 and the clutch is £140ish so that's why it seems so high!

part numbers are for the insides of the oil pump that get fucked up. The rally boys round here don't buy new pumps, just rebuild their original.

yes, parts numbers is my life, not just vauxhall
