Getting back to the point at hand, Joey Barton has spoken out for the first time about his punishment;

The only 5 minutes of football he will play this year and he makes a reckless challenge and acts liek a complete cunt  Yes he got the ball but he went in very weirdly and IMO fair play to Nasri for kickign him over
Lost a lot of respect for Keegan using him for a start and also his behaviour after the final whistle :/

It was a heavy challenge on Nasri Rob but like you said he got the ball. Thats the way he plays, he won't change and IMO shouldn't.
I think Keegan's issue with Nasri was that it was a blatant trip and IMO if the roles had been reversed and Barton had done that to Nasri chances are it wouldn't have just been a yellow

His challenge was fine, it was the smirk afterwards trying to provoke that shows him up.
He wants to be careful on nights out too, plenty of people out there that wouldn't think twice about lamping him one!

the way he leapt into the challenge was reckless too IMO although yes he only had eyes for the ball and won it fair and square and yeah, the smirk afterwards
