They should just stop people who buy shit private regi's spacing them to look like their names and illegible fonts, i'm not really bothered about german plates and think a nice clean set of standard ones without any postcodes etc on them looks good.

I will still be purchasing a nice set of UK pressed plates from somewhere for all my cars in the future!

Pressed plates look much nicer than acrylic shite.

Dont see how it would stop anything.

I know a few people who have licence plate making machines.,my uncle bought one on ebay few months back for his garage.

You can get 100% legal pressed plates though. CraigsPlates do them, and they make the info they have to show as small as possible, so it's barely noticeable.

Don't you have to go into the shop though produce your V5 and photo ID etc.

As its cheaper taking a £30 for me than driving to get them

Yeah im getting some for the C2, do you not get a certificate to show they are legal?
