I dont trust myself, plus i dont have a VIA chipset SATA card. Would rather let someone who's done it before do it.

Benq doesnt need VIA.
That's only the a couple of the Hitachi drives, pre 79 model.
I don't do that sort of thing, I just know someone I know does them...

benq does need via if you dont want to cut the traces on the drives circut board. If you use a VIA SATA card then you done need too. Gonna see if we have any at work today.

Nope, still plays fine...
I have a few mates who have modded ones. I'd never do mine, just incase it did break... But they can play on live no probs.

You can play live until the do an update that catches you.
You have to update all the time to try and not get caught.
