when spraying bodywork is it ok to sand between coats or between the last coat of paint and the first coat of lacquer? just got some slight imperfections i want to flat out before lacquering. also what grade paper should i use to do this? any help
paint is mettalic if that makes a difference.

Not sure about sanding before laquer but wet and dry in between coats is fine!

i would be carefull with sanding the top leyer of paint,especially if its metallic as it will have a flake in it.Rubbing it down will cause uneven dull patches on the top coat.If youre lacuering it then i would spray the top coat on then leave for 10 minutes and spray the lacuer on after the 10 mins.The lack of sanding on the top coat shouldnt matter as the fact that the paint is still "damp" will make the first coat of lacuer adhere to it like its been keyed.
