I have some money saved and im thinking about doing a conversion on my car.
I really dont know what to do as there is so many options!!
Has anyone got any decent suggestions on what i could do??
- 2.0L 16v Redtop
- 1.6 16v
- Throttle bodies
- Turbo Conversion
what would be the best thing to go about doing, which will have good gains for a reasonable price
Any help will be greatly appreciated

How much money do you have saved? and will you be doing it yourself?
How old are you? (insurance)

Have you not seen this question asked every single day along with the turbo one?
It's always the same answers, turbo is more money than it's worth.
Some will say tune a 1.6, most will say put the 2.0 in, the answers won't be any different to the ones yesterday.

No point in going from a 1.4 to a 1.6 imo!
Waste of time. If your gonna take the engine out you may aswell go for an C20XE. I went from a 130 BHP 1.6 to an XE and it was the best thing i did to the car.

i just love the ideaof a small block turbo. Im not at all clued up on this!! I honestly thought you could bolt it on as its the correct turbo conversion kit for the car

Unfortunatley not, otherwise i'd have had one. just couldn't justify the cash for the gains really
Plus, a 1.6 turbo would be a far better option

Will cost a bit more than that.
£300 for decent engine
£200ish for new bits and bobs for engine
Not too sure on fitting kit costs thought. Fit it yourself and your probs looking around a grand and a smidgen.
Try speaking to someone in your area who can convert to an XE for some info on costs and stuff for them to fit.

your not gonna get very for with that, also when you say turbo are you meaning a c20let? as you are gonna need a hell of a lot more money than £600 to fit one of those, you couldn't even buy the engine with that.
