im getting sick of the noise coming from my k+n cone filter on my xe and its probably doing more harm than good by sucking in hot air from the engine bay

so i was thinkiing about getting a standard airbox and putting the cone inside it with a cold air feed

which airbox has a larger outlet pipe similar in size to the xe intake hose?

im sure ive seen a pic on here of it done before?

Dave B modified a standard corsa airbox so the induction pipe is bigger.

He used a bit of drain pipe it doesnt look great but it works.

ste will know, but i think the airbox off the gsi is the biggest?

All corsa B air boxes are the same size i think.

C16XE air boxes are different then the other corsa ones

c16xe is the better one to get..

pic's next the the normal type..



just need's slight modification of chopping the tabs off

and you also need to use an xe sfi to afm pipe, so it fit's like this

if you havent got an sfi pipe then an old cv boot will work just as well

wouldn't the cv boot be too small, due to thickness of drive shafts?

CV boot is tapered though so trim some off. i've used cv boots a time or two fitting universal bmc things

cheers lads thats exactly what i was looking for

so i just need a GSI airbox and the rubber 'donut' thing, the same as what attaches to the powercap?

yes, well you only need the airbox lid, as the bottom half's are all basically the same
