Not sure if the 1.4 16v (X14XE) has one, but when my car 12v (X10XE) was bogging down, it was the AFM causing the problem.

i have been to vauxhall to ask them and they think it is the crank bottom pulley and woodruff key worn. because when i put the engine in the car the crank pulley was rattleing like fuck

would that cause the bogging dwn and poping.

you migt not of got the pulley on correctly somehow. that would fuck the crank sensor signal right up. take the pulley off and make sure its sat in the right place

if it was fookin the crank signal up the car wouldn't start..
As it uses crank for spark and cam sensor for injection..
I still say egr fault..

Usually EGR makes the car run like shit unless you have the throttle right open, or atleast thats what it did to me.
