Sounds like a cylinder to me mate, had the same happen on a mk3 astra.

Cylinders cost about a tenner, just make sure you don't get shafted. And get a 2nd opinion if he says it's pipes, they might cost more to do.

As said, same thing happened on my old car - would come out and the wheel would be drenched in fluid, happened to a mate's clio as well.

Pedal would also go to the floor, you'd have to pump it 3 or 4 times before the brakes came on fully.

Couple of hairy moments when they were like that.

Sounds like the wheel cylinder.. you may need new shoes aswell as the brake fluid may have contaminated the brake lining..

it's also advisable to replace wheel cylinders in pairs just to be safe

TBH mate I wouldn't go changing them in pairs just for the sake of it.

Woldn't mess around with brake pipes/bleed nipples unless absolutely neccessary.

just change the one mate and make sure you bleed the brakes back up properly. not to long a job to do. never had this on my corsa but had it twice on my fiesta and a brake pipe go aswell, brake pipe is normally a very slow fade that you will notice the pedal getting more spoungy over time.

what engine have ya got in it. as a mate who had a 2ltr broke the pipes on the bulkhead as when the engine was rocking under gear change the throttle body/powercap was hitting the brake line and wore through. leaving him with no brakes one day. was ok tho
