Ok, what are these actually for?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/COMPETITION-BOOT-SPRING-SET-BLACK-FINISHED_W0QQitemZ350097496997QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item350097496997&_trkparms=72%3A1301%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

Are they good for keeping my fibreglass bootlid shut?
Do they go on the inside?

I need some way to keep fibreglass boot shut, dont like bonnet pins...?

wonder if they would work on the boot? As they would have to be strong to keep the boot compressed up against the rubber sealing....

fiberglass bolts each side of bootlid
when shut attach L shape bracket, weld / bolt to inside of car - bolt shut ( maybe wing nuts )

when u need to get boot open, go from inside, spin wing bolts open - then go open boot

Good idea that is mate!

Only main problem there wont be much room with the seats in to get into the back!

I will experiment with your idea tommorow for sure.

cool, not many ways do do it without ruining the rear off bootlid ( bonnet pins etc )

what about those quick lock things people use for front bumpers ? ( push center bit and it pops out )

1 in each corner maybe

almost like a flush bonnet pin - seen them before on front bumpers

think they are push in/out - or twist it somehow to release it

some of the guys on here must know what i mean - it's like an oval shape with circle center

try ask some of the people with light fast cars ( track cars, 1/4 cars etc )

google front bumper quick release or something along those lines

Must say, i have NEVER seen them before.... Looks good, but i wouldnt know how to use them, could work it out if i had them though....!

I was thinking, replacing the original stump that the original boot latch catches on with a bolt, and then fibreglassing on a metal bracket with a hole which can be pulled over the bolt and then nutted down.

similar to my other idea but need acces through to rear to unbolt

along same line as ur thinking - replace section in bootlid and part on boot surround on car with my first idea - some sort of spring loaded catch - then add few strong magnets along the edges maybe
