looking at the options for converting the rear of my corsa to discs, seems to be onlt 2 options

1 conversion plates on there own from chris astley motorsport/ ebay etc between £13 and £20

2 full kit from lmf vauxhall for just under £100 delivered

question i have is there a way of doing it with the plates themselfs with a mix and match of parts from other vauxhalls?

dont want to pay lmf for the complete kit if theres a way of saving some money on the conversion

any ideas?

ye buy the disks weld them on yourself. some hubs off a astra or cav etc . do it yourself will only cost pennys. did mine myself. just had to buy a bias valve recently to stop the rears from locking up so more pressure went to my 308 up front

You just need the conversion plates from Chris Astley. The stub axles, hubs and callipers can be salvaged from a non IRS Cavalier or Calibra.

I have no idea what's in the LMF kit because it seems too cheap for the stub axles, callipers and disks.

ive got the whole rear brakes removed from a v6 cavalier, backing plates, stub axles etc

the lmf kit is the plates you weld on with all the guides and bits for the handbrake cables

if i buy the plates on there own from chris astley how do i link up the handbrake cables?

You modify the original cables, or use Nova cables. I'm regurgitating information here though, as I don't actually know how it's done.

i used standard corsa cable on the car and sleeved some 22 mil copper tubing on the under side of the rear seat to space the gap and take out the slack in the cable
