im changing mine soon as its a little worn..
how does the gearknob and gaitor come off?

Remove gearknob then pull the gaitor from the bottom upwards as its clipped in2 the centre console then there will be a cable tie at the top, chop it off and the gaitor should just come off

how does the gearknob remove then mate? ive heard you have to heat it up or something...
can i use it again (will it stay on properly) once ive removed it?

Thy just pull off can be fooking tight sumtimes though then just pushes back on
Im asuming you mean for a corsa?

You can also do it by removing the stick completely via the bottom clip, difficult but you'll then be able to put the gaiter on from below or have more purchase on the stick if you want the knob off.

This is what I'd do.
And removing the whole gear stick is relatively simple - if you have a Haynes manual it's in there.

far to much bother, lift to turn it inside out, cut the zip tie and pull off....thats how i did mine
