Cranked my music up yesterday, not too loud for the "safe mode" to cut the bass but still...
Treble has now dissapered // gone somewhere
Only hear bass now when the music is playing. If I turn the bass off // i get no sound atall, No interferance, No humming- nothing.
A wire maybe or has my headunit pre amp gone?
Ahhh crap
New headunit time?
I have one of these...

Youve prolly blown the internal amp in the head unit, but its still capable of sending a raw signal to you subwoofer amp Via RCA.
Im assuming that your Mid and High range speakers are running from your headunit, and your bass speaker is running from a seperate amp?

Sounds as if tweeters or crossover on the front comps could be dead then if the midbass drivers are working fine?
Best bet is get the bottom half of door card off, get a mate whos got a spare full range speaker lying around (or you if you have one), plug it direct to standard wiring from head unit (i.e. not to the crossover) and see if it plays all frequencies.

Sorry,
Ive got 5.25 speakers in the doors plus single dash mounted tweeters.
Only bass coming from the rear (Sub) No "music" coming from the speakers.
If only bass is coming from the H.unit then surely its not completely broken because a signal is being sent to the amp to power the Sub.
That right to assume?

Yep, sounds like you may have smoked the onboard amp...
Only thing I can suggest is disconnect it from the car for a while or disconnect car battery for a bit so it resets and see if you have any luck. If not nip down local car audio shop for an opinion and get ready buy a new head unit if it can't be physically checked and fixed for cheap
