if your looking at powdercoated parts, id spend many hours washing it out, and soaking it in water to make sure 100% i have all the sand out if it was shock blasted to, i know fad had the problem but also was chatting to someone with a 3000GT having the same probelm after a full Forged rebuild

when fitting an inlet such as the one I have on my engine, we removed a pipe that goes from the rocker cover to the old intake pipe (which is removed when fitting the inlet) thus without one, oil (in small amounts) sprays in the engine bay. It's not going to damage the car, its just giving the oil somewhere to go, and keeping the bay cleaner.

Surely the engine gradually runs lower and lower on oil, or is it fed back into the sump etc?

its not fed back, have to drain it every so often. i will drain it on sunday (after 1 weeks driving) so see how much there is to guage how often i'l need to drain it.
not sure as to the ins and outs of how much oil will be lost.
perhaps when before the inlet was fitted, the original pipe did re-route it back into the sump in a round about way, but i dunno...wasnt really paying attention when fitting it. im sure there are more learned people who will give you a better answer
