I read a review somewhere that it makes only a slight bit of difference to the quality and only if you use it on a screen bigger than 32" or so. Probly not worth the hassle, lets face it, the Wii isnt a graphics intensive console so shouldnt make too much difference to the overall gaming experience

It wouldn't make a difference really. The Wii is still going to be transmitting the video at the same resolution, be it component, scart, s-video or whatever.

Made a difference on the one we fitted to a customers 50" plasma, looked much sharper, still not amazing but worth the £9.99 it cost!
Depends on the setup, ours went through a top of the range Denon AV amp which upscaled the wii to 1080p

So it was the up-scaler, not the cable, that made the difference............................

ive got one, made a bit f difference on my hd tv quite a bit charper, meens you can set it to 480p all though im not sure if you could already set it to that through the av cable.
well i think it was worth it, there only a couple of pound on ebay try one out yourself.

Yes the amp's built-in scaling helped out! But the Component over composite signal was noticeably better
