we have a few of these at work,
yes they are ugly as fuck
we work in london so it makes sence for the guys to opt for them as company car's and the company car tax is like only £300 a year,
around town they average at like 55MPG on the motorway 8-90mph they are no more economic than any other car, and that little engine is quite noisy and is at constant high rev's
i can see why people go for these if they can get past the looks and just think of the money their saving,
but for doing mega miles and lots of motorway drivng id rather a derv allday long

I was watching an old Top Gear on Dave the other week and Jeremy Clarkson was reviewing the Prius. He basically said it's shit (not literally of course), and that you would be better off getting a proper diesel for high MPG.

Tell him that by driving a Prius he is going to be instantly label'd a 'pompus self-rightous pr*ck'.. If he's happy with that and the shame it will bring to your familly let him crack on.

BMW 118d SE - End of imo.
Prius isnt a good car. Honda Civic IMA is marginally better imo. Prius isnt doesnt really have the green credentials as many would think, and with useage of 40k/yr - it isnt a viable option.

I think the easiest way to solve your issue is get your dad down to a toyota dealership get him to drive it aroud, motorway section aswel im sure once he hits the open road he will soon realise what a step down he is taking and will soon change his mind
how does it work, does he get a list of cars available?
