guys im sorry for posting this again but im stuck for ideas on this problem i recently bought a 1998 corsa 1.2 16v and all lights but 1 reverse light worked at first then work was done on it and now the brake and reverse dont work checked all other lights no problems there, the work that was done was the wheels removing and rubbing brakes down, an oil leak near the gearbox (noticed when we got it home) and a new icv fitted after cleaning old one with carb cleaner did not work, throttle box and air pipes where also cleaned out because the were all clogged with oil engine management light is on but can only assume thats because of the idling (at around 400 sometimes cutting out)have a 16 pin connector (5&6) but pins are in wrong place so am unable to do but was on before lights stopped working now we've check the usual stuff bulb and fuses tested power that the fuses and the switch no problems and gone as far as being told by a mechanic to check behind the brakes for wires and guessing if there is a relay for the brake going blind as we have got no manual got a friend coming on saturday and any help would be greatly appreciated

Check the switch at the top of the brake pedal isnt broken, little white thing. If its broke or lose that will cause the brakes lights to fail. Reverse sensors is a bit more difficult

might be worth checking the earth's aswell, just incase? a bad earth somewhere amongst the loom can cause the wierdest of problems all over the place
