Mines going through MOT on Monday, I know now its probably going to fail on emissions due to the de-cat.
Im just wondering as Ive seen a fair few C20LET owners on here with de-cats and just wondered how they get on with there MOT's?
Is it just a case of getting lucky or going through a dodgey MOT

I know them as they do the MOT's for all the cars in the family, they are a strict-ish garage and when i mentioned about the de-cat to them around a month ago they said that theres a wider bracket fro emissions due tot he engine being non standard in that car.
I do know another guy who could probably just put it through with no problems but I want it to go through abit of a strict one so I know the cars ok.

I haven't used or even considered the dodgey garage, because it would mean that much more to me and the car if it wetn through a decent ticket.
Will just see how it goes

I know what you mean, I like my car going through a strict test...
The only thing that got done with mine this year 'cause I couldn't be assed taking the de-cat off was to use another car for the emissions Could you persuade him to just to do that
Heard some folk just wave the probe for the exhaust slightly away from the tail pipe as well

the engine pre93 trick hardly ever works and most vaux places are shit at pulling up car details with a engine number, fucking useless!
jam666 why? are you going to call the rozzers?

It's possible to look up the engine number and (you're meant to) get all the details for it - I had the mechanic at work do it for mine and nothing came up though as Ben ev says.
Get him a box of quality street and ask nicely.
