Just been on overclockers to order my new rig, whats everyone else think? worth the cash spec ok?
Still waiting on the guys over on the overclockers forum getting back to me too, i know the screen isnt needed but it looks funky 
Edit to say: Its just shy of £510. anyone think i could get a better spec for less from dell or something?

yeah,looks decent spec for a budget rig. couple of things you could change, but hardly worth it as its down to brand preference. i.e. seasonic over antec, asus over gigabyte, corsair over OCZ etc.

i brought new rig about 2/3 months ago, brought a Corsair VX 450W power supply (they are good) cost £41.00 roughly but it suddenly stopped working when i came to my pc one day....just been to take it back and they kicked up a rite fuss you will have to wait 7-10 working days etc but with a bit of persuasion and quoting the Sales of goods act i walked away with a new one  .... remember to keep your receipts

The new Intel chips and chipset are called Core i7, the new chips wont fit in current chipsets on any mobo you buy now, so basically you wont be able to upgrade to any new Intel chips in the future if you buy a Core 2 Duo.

I know that, my point is about future proofing the machine rather than getting amazing performance now. If he goes down the route he is then he wont be able to upgrade in the future and will be looking at a whole new machine again.

Watson - Looks like a good spec. Only thing i would change is the Antec PSU, it's certainly not worth the money! Would look at Corsair/Seasonic PSUs and you don't need anything like 650w, more 400w.
Otherwise the rest of it seems pretty well decent.
Also shop around, as OCuk isn't the cheapest of places, although their weekly offers can be fairly reasonable. If you sign up to hexus.net forums, then you can get free delivery with scan.co.uk. I ended up buying bits from OCuk, Scan and Ebuyer when i bought my system a few months back, saved me well over £100.
Cosmo - Although the i7s are decent processors, you're having to stump up over £250 quid for the bottom of the line and C2D/C2D Quad will still last a few years.
