Try and get your hands on an F10 gear box with a 4.18FD. That's help with acceleration but you will lose a little of your top speed. If you are going to be working on your engine and fit a hight rev limit then this will be over come then.

That's what i have got.

A f10 wont fit.
Not without swapping flywheels/clutches etc

Whats the current engine spec?
Why not put money into engine mods instead seeing as a straight cut box is like a grand, second hand.

Quaiff is your friend then.

For a dog box though, don't expect much change out of £4k odd........

They do a different ratio kit though to bring the gearing down and improve acceleration.

Wont' make much "acceleration and top speed" difference (will vastly lower top end), but in gear acceleration, point to point, corner to corner, massive difference.

Also likely to loose less power though a proper box, say 15-2bhp instead of the normal 20-30bhp.

Add the diff too, and your on your way to a much better performing car, before any engine or suspensio changes....

If its a track car, having 20-30bhp more won't make much difference, concentrating on suspension tweeks, weight distribution, acceleration and weight will make a vastly improved lap time and drivability.

Old Formula Vauxhall ran engines used redtops with a set of cams and otherwise standard lumps, which was plenty as race tracks are about corners.

If your after straightline power/pace performance, you don't start with a corsa, and deffo not with a 1.6 engine...

im not after straight line power altho would be ok, loving corners and hoping to make it into a track car, current speck is standard apart from replicar manzel and 421 straight thru ect

Having a chip to map everything would be the best place to start, put the right air/fuel in to suit the inlet.

I'd suggest a smaller box, will save you huge amounts of cash, will increase acceleration and reduce top end, jsut wont be as good as a top end box.

A diff would make a great addition though.

In fact, i'd say get billy yellows (Bilstein) on -40mm on a set of 15"s, rear ARB, front ARB, uprated bushes, a diff, and the car will be totally different around bends. It'll actually go round them, pretty well too.....

for the price changing your final drive to the 4.18 warren.g is selling will make the most difference.

changing the cwp will have exactly the results your after i.e more acceleration.

top end probably wont be effected as your car is overgeared anyway and its top speed is limited by its power and aerodynamics not the rev limit and gearbox.

basically you will be at higher revs for a given speed and able to use your engines power more effectively at a cost of fuel economy and increased engine noise.

my car has a shit top end any way, i top out in 5th gear when many other cars like 1.8 escorts ect are still in 4th gear lol it is pretty rapid atm tho, i had a redtop corsa b before this gsi and this feels about the same,
also my friend down the road has a corsa redtop and he cant shake me off his tale lol.
im finking about gettin gotech managent for it,
just fort i could somehow get some strait cut gears on thier own and rebuild my gearbox or a spare box,

its lowered at the mo on cheepo coilovers witch arnt too good lol, i dont like coilovers i want some good handling suspension witch is on my list soon,

also its on 15inch compo mos

i wouldn't bother with a S/C box unless you are using it for competition use, where every last second and bhp matters.
just get a light fly wheel, that will make acceleration and deceleration much faster for not a lot of cash.

I'm running an F13CR.. Traction is a big issue on low ratio boxes, I'm on the look out for a bargain ATB.

straight cut close ratio gear kit is circa £1300ish inc cwp
the diff is going to be another £600
new bearings etc to bulid the gear cluster up into your f15 casing.

your looking at around £2k for a s/c c/r gearkit thats alot of money on just a gearbox.

dog box is more expensive again

sequential is more expensive again

My bad. I've not worded that propperly.

You'll need to remove the 4.18FD from the F10 gearbox and swap it for yours on your F15.
