need help with my let. I had an really bad engine conversion done to my Corsa
But I'll put that to one side. Anyway it was burning oil like there was no tomorrow on idel
And when drivin so I decided to rebuild the engine my self so I fitted new piston rings and sent the head away for new oil stem oil seals. The main things that make it burn oil. Any way after replacing outher things aswell to complete the rebuild we put it back together a cupple of days ago all went
Well but after 10 to 15 mins of running it started to burn a lot of oil again. I took it out for half an hour and let it sit and idel for a futher 20 mins just in case it was burning off the remainding oil but there was no change. We have checked the boost pipe leading to the throttle housing for oil and in the dump valve but it's as clean and dry as owt. Any help would be fantastic cheers!!!

checked the blocks breathes pipes? Could be blocked and over pressurising causing it to leak oil into the bores? Or did you get the head pressure tested? Incase its cracked?

LET will only burn oil if its' got knacked stem seals, piston rings or turbo oil seals.

Do a compression test (wet and dry).

hang on, you've done a rebuild and fitted new rings. Did you hone the block, check for clearances? Run the engine in on crap oil and change etc?

If you didn't measure anything before fitting new rings, chances are your bores are glazed, or very possibly 'oval' so, regardless of fitting new bits it'll still burn oil

did you hone the cylinder bores before fitting new piston rings also did you number the pistons before taking them out the cylinder bores ie so number 1 piston goes back in number 1 bore also did you stagger/off set the piston ring end gap

this means the cross hatch/plateau finish on the cylinder bores to help run the piston rings in because if you do not then the rings will never seal the bores,
but the hone finish is dependent on what piston rings you are using some piston rings need a 600 grit hone some and some need 400 grit hone

some ring end gaps need off setting/staggering by 120 degrees,
you need to run piston rings in do not let the engine idle after fitting piston rings
you need to load up the engine to do this
