does any1 know the difference between the nova gte engine and the nova gsi engine? i know their both 8valve but isnt the gte powered by a carb rather than injection?

They have a different inductio system iirc, and the GSi has a cat the GTE doesnt

i think the gsi has an AFM and the GTE doesnt too, but not 100% sure

c16se & e16se,,same bhp and all..thought the difference btween the gte n gsi was 1 was just a face lift version off the other

earlier ones had a bosch airflow meter i think the later gsis had a different make

no i'm talking pish, the gte has a bosch jetronic fuel injection system and the gsi has a multec one

i knew it was something to do with induction one has a different Emissions rating too

GTE is the early performance model
GSI is the later one..
both had same engine's e16se, untill the late J/K reg gsi's where they got a c16se, with had no afm and it had a cat fitted
both engine's make exactly the same amount of power too

Praise the lord you are here
E16SE is found in both GTE & GSi, the E16SE in the GSi runs a different ECU though, a Bosch one rather than Siemens.
Like Ste rightly says, the later GSi's were fitted with the C16SE with no AFM and a CAT.

yep, the late one's used a MAP sensor like on the 8v SRi's - basically it's look's nearly identical to the 1400 8v MPI engine
also, if i remember right, im sure there's two variation's of the early e16se too, slightly diff wiring and ecu on them
