The older ones. Trying to find out some info about them but not finding much about the variations.
Its a 1.8D Escort van (1991)
I know you get various models, are they 55, 56, 57, or 55, 65, 75???
Whats the major difference bar engine power?

The 1.8D's are lethal - the TD's are much much better.
Though the numbers were trim specs actually like Merit, LS, GLS, CDX etc etc.

I've seen the 1.8D's about 3 or 4 times on another site in a thread titled 'Worst car you have ever driven'.

Not for me pow, work colleague husband needs a cheap van. TD out of price range.
Its more the specs im trying to find for them. Speed, handling is not an issue. Stuff it can carry and if it has the power to pull a bootfull.

My bro has a 55 non turbo and it's flat as fuck but it manages with about half a tonne of work gear in the back day in day out.
It has a major oil and PAS fluid leak but it just goes and goes without any bother

Look at early Corsa C shape Combos, I bet you can pick them up cheaper.
A cheap Escort van is going to be bloody cheap, like £50 cheap surely?!

I know the 1.8D's arent that much slower than the corsa 1.5td, but the turbo is probably the best - however they drink diesel

the escort van is one of the only few small vans that you can fit a set of brick profiles in. They are quality little vans but my god are they slow. I heard the 1.8td is quicker. the 75 can carry more weight than the 55
