ok as some of u know i had to change my engine a few weeks ago due to blowing up the x14xe hehe
anyway engine is in fine and running all good
only thing is its still running the 1.4 ecu (just recieved a 1.6 ecu in the post)
so the 1.6 ecu will go on over the weekend
anyway the problem im having is when im driving in high gears as soon as i start to slow down again and come down the gears the engine light comes on and then the car cuts out
will changing the ecu stop this from happening or is it gonna be something else???
anyhelp much appreciated

Check the fuses mate, first port of call.

maybe crankshaft sensor,similar thing vas happening on my brothers old vectra and thats what it was

cheers lads will check them all, only thing is, ware is the icv and egr valves??

you should know as you changed a engine but, icv is on the throttle with the tps fiddly to get at in the standard position, egr is at rear of engine under the inlet manifold also fiddly to get at the rear screw, if you fit a powerbox or any better inlet this makes it easy to work on the icv/tps.

cheers, yeah i should know but my m8 who helped me is a mechanic i just provided the extra hands and muscle lol
