Seems optimistic on a naturally aspirated engine.

I just dont see how you can get improved bhp/power using less fuel. Thats just my concern.

Saw this earlier this year. I seriously thought about it. Came to the conclusion that its not really worth the risk. Spend money on reliable proven mods rather than cuting corners which could totally fuck your car up. Thats my opinion anyway...

i tried one out on my car, took flat spots away, but i didnt leave it on for too long because it says if you dont run your car on super it will pink and it just generally wears the engine out qiucker..

isn't the new porche like that? By directly injecting fuel onto the cylinder head?
but if this is some guy done it himself..fuck that!

"The chip has very aggressive ignition timing curves"
That's going to give you more heat and as someone else has pointed out a greater chance of knocking due to the hot points not to mention it will most likely bollocks up your emissions.
There are some things I would buy off eBay as long as I am able to check them but a replacement chip-set sure as hell isn't one of them. Don't chance it, the amount of shite sold on eBay could result in some pretty catastrophic results.

It doesn't need soldering in mate, the chip-set pulls out and you put the new one in. The chip base stays in situ.

But thats with the whole engine being designed from scratch, my view was purely based on just adding a chip could not gain bhp and save fuel. A chip will either increase fuel or not, it wont change the way the engine works ie injecting fuel into the head. I never trust what people say on Ebay anyway, take into consideration the Resistor mods

Bear in mind an OE map is designed to cater for every eventuality from high/low altitude and various ranges of fuel etc. It is perfectly possible to improve on both but they will always offset each other, people wanting economy dont spend their time in the upper RPM limit, those wanting power don't look at the price per gallon, I know I don't!
