Meant to be going out with a few other couples for a steak. Had a domestic so not sure if other half is coming at the moment, and to be honest I couldn't give a fuck!

Why do people celebrate new year? IMO its just another day same as any other? Is there any particular religious thing about it (such as Xmas is 'supposed' to have)?

I like you Danny, you're my type of guy

The last time I went in town it was shit, all the clubs mark up the drinks, it cost me £20 to get in somewhere that I hate, I was the oldest person there and midnight came and we went home.

It's pointless.

I used to agree but then think life is miserable enough so why start being miserable about people wanting to celebrate stuff. You can ask the question "Why bother?" to almost everything in life if you are that way inclined.

Very over rated night though, same as any other but more expensive.

It's the start of a new year and an excuse to go and have a good time with family/mates.

I agree it is a bit over rated but the people that don't do anything to celebrate must have really exciting lives.

Going to a mate's around 8, having a few beers and watching tv, then going to the pub about 11 It was good last year because we played pool and I won the first game of the year Today's gone well so far as well so hope it carries on

Tbh thought I've only bothered doing things for new year the last two years basically because I could drink But it doesn't really have a point, and we usually go to the pub on Weds anyway

It is usually an anti-climax but I had one of the best nights ever at New Years a couple of years ago at a house party so hopefully we have the same result this evening
