my passenger side window has started going down by itself an when u put it back up it goes half way then straight back down, is this a common fault? is it likley to be a switch at fault or the wiring somewhere?

prob the switch sticking, take it off and clean the buttons with some WD40

Are the runners free? If the window is struggling to go up it will go back down.
If the motor feels too much resistance it'll drop back down thinking someones head or arm is trapped in the window, It;s a safety feature.
Try spraying Silicone lube into the runner seither side of the window.
