Looking at getting one of these programs on DVD as I enjoy watching travel documentary type stuff.
Caught a bit of By Any Means last week and enjoyed it but never seen any of Long Way Round.
What are peoples thoughts?

Long Way Round was on BBC2? Never watched it, not my sort of thing, but you should be able to catch it on iPlayer

Not seen much of By Any Means, but it didn't seem as interesting or as challenging as Long Way Round/Down. So you should like Round/Down.

Watched every single one of every single series. I loved them all. By any means was good, as it wasnt just motor bikes, some of the vehicles he used were just hilarious.

Long Way Down/Long Way Round are significantly better than "by any means"; the latter was a bit dull after the first couple and too contrived and organised

Pfffff, tarts on their motoX bikes with full support teams.
A bloke done a similar trip, through deserts n such, by himself, on a Yamaha R1 (yup, an R1 in the sandy desert!!!!).
Loved watching LWD and LWR though. I'll do something like that before i get old, long road trip

long way round was much better than long way down, which had far too much of the whingy ewan mcgregor having to have his family flown in all over the place, which obviously pissed charlie off.
charlies "race to dakar" is excellent aswell, picked up the 2 disc edition from hmv for £5, really good series that one, well worth getting.

Watched both, prefer "by any means" when charlie is on his own,Ewan is just annoying.
Although long way down is just as good when they get to see other clultures etc.
Just annoys me they just drive through loads of places without stopping.
