ive got a 1.4 SRI 1994 and what it is.. its like a rattling noise or a noise like something is broken coming from engine bay
it happens when like say for example of your in wrong gear for speed your going and u put down accelarate it does it or when u put a sudden accelarate going up a hill or so basically like when a sudden accelarate it dosent do it all the time when driving just like say am doing 40mph without foot on pedal then a slam it down lol hard to explain really

Sounds like pinking/detonation so I would check knock sensor if there is one fitted to this engine .
