my mate has got this standard stereo in his car and he says it has gone into safe mode
i think he has put his code in wrong 2 many times
any1 know how to get it working from here?

Is he holding down AS or UML (can't remember) when he's turning it on?
If not then do so and you'll see 8 - - - -
If he's been through the numbers and it's now locked then you need to reflash the memory in it, big job which requires some soldering and messing about with chip reader. I've a mate who does it but it's not worth the price of that HU to spend time on it.
