yea im sure it was a local copper that told me that.

he said that even if you took it a month early and it failed, it would come up on the system as having no mot, because the tester has deemed it un safe.

car impounded etc...

Some MOT testers were obviously abused as children, guy who did mine last year on the van knew me as i used to do alot of work for the owner and their customers, he failed me on one blocked washer jet nozzle and one rear number plate bulb out. I had a spare bulb in the glovebox and a pin so fixed both in 2 secs in front of him and he still made me book it in for a retest a week later.

Whereas my brothers astra gsi passed with 2 buckled wheels and a blowing exhaust at a different test centre, really is where you take it.

Why take it do a dealer?!

The Mrs fiesta came with a Full MOT but a page of advisorys from the last person who had it and MOT'd it at the dealers.

We MOTd it a year later at a local garage and it flew through with no advisorys etc

The bloke that does my mot does it every year, one year got an advisory for a lose topmount i.e. play in it. Did fuck all with and next year didnt even crop up and hes not one to try and screw me out of money as we look after him and he looks after us, so just goes to show sometimes people themselves can vary year from year nevermind a car from place to place

Well what a suprise. Vauxhall are thieves, no other word for it. The amount of people that must get stitched up and take their word for it is quite astounding.

Agreed Olli. One of my mates said if you think about it right, they say oh ya springs are cracked me or some other poor sould agrees to let Vauxhall fix it gets the standard springs for the chasis number - replace them, then sell on the gaz ones knowing they are near perfect condition.

im pretty sure the motortrade doesnt work like that

ive worked in it for 6 years and never seen or heard anything like that

its more likley an over zelous tester, who had a doubt about something and would rather risk a bollocking than missing something and then loosing his tester status and possibly the dealers too
