police can do an engine number check but they dont normally. VOSA will deffo notice it though, end of the day its your lisence and if you crash into someone they will kick your head in when they find out your void.

MOT
and then you'd probably be done for both which could lead to two lots of 3 points and a hefty fine?

Driving without valid insurance? Meaning car will be seized and crushed and will also face a court summons and a ban. Then good luck getting insured anytime after that. You think it's good at the beginning, but in the event even the most minor of things, your whole world will come crashing down around you. Trust me. If you can't afford valid insurance, then wait till you can.
