Hi
Ive seen a few Corsas for sale on various sites, XE and LET corsas stating that they are for sale but are still logged as 1.4 or 1.6 on the Reg Certificate.
Does a corsa with an engine transplant but still with a Reg Certificate stating that it is still a 1.4 or 1.6 still pass MOT??
Thanks

MOT is last of your worries tbh. Completely void insurance is the bigger issue imho. I wouldn't particularly buy a modified car like that off someone who hadn't declared the engine to their insurance company, unless they could prove the conversion had just been done.

yeah i know that cats are a must on post 1992 engines..but if say the car is registered as 1.4, it will be tested as 1.4, and if it will have a 2.0 engine, the emmisions will be highier, cat or no cat...

I was thinking about the emissions test aswell, surely it would fail on that.

get them to change the log book before you buy. I am currently having issues with the DLVA changing my log book
I have had to provide proof of where the engine has come from, where it was fitted, and engine number.
Not sure if this is a new policy or not but was a suprise to me all the same!
