Mate it you wanna get big in film go either Toronto or LA, i couldn't afford LA. just do it. you will work for little at the beginning but if you get connections and networking going you will get good work so quick.

That looks awesome

What's the film industry like out in Canada? You know if theres many job opportunities for tv/film sound engineers/foley/ADR/sound design artists in that part of the world?

They say NZ is the place for film/sound jobs, but i think everyone jumped on that bandwagon a few years back (with LOTR's etc).

Looks good though

How'd did you manage to get a break out there? Was it litterally the case of packing up and flying out there and getting 'feelers' out? Is there a big demand of work in the Canadian film industry?

As you can see i'm very interested in the film/tv industry Trying to get into foley/adr (once i finish uni this year) but the UK is a ballache for getting into that side of the industry.

Yeah i heard it's a little nippy that way How you finding it out there? Having to learn any french?

Lol no im living near toronto so there is no french people thankfully. I had a couple of small connection out here before i came but you know what most of my bigger break connection have been made while im here. emailing production companies and meeting people through that. once you have been on a couple of sets here and there which you might have to volunteer on then you will know faces and names and they will know you. Its all about the hustle making sure you make an impression of the people it matters to make an impression on like the producer and DOP and PM. Those are the people that are going to be calling you up aagain and again asking wheather you want work.

Joe
