Jeremy Lusk died of head injuries Tuesday after crashing while trying to land a back flip in competition. He was just 24.

Chief of the intensive care unit at Calderon Hospital, Jorge Ramirez, said the motocross racer suffered spine and brain damage.

Ramirez said Lusk died with his parents and his wife, Lauren, at his side.

“He was in a medicine-induced coma as a protective measure, and the medicine was being reduced to see how his body responded,” he said. “That didn’t mean he was going to wake up. He was in shock and that got worse last night, until he stopped responding and entered into cardiac and respiratory failure.”

So i'm guessing thats the crash which killed him? (the vid), if so, i can't believe some sick bastard is hosting it.

Edit, saying that...i guess he did do it all for show, but showing his death like that does take a way a lot of dignity IMO

Yeah, he knew the risks. These guys really push it compared to 6- 7 years ago. It's video game territory, there's been a lot of crashes that have looked far worse, suprised more haven't been killed.

You can see what does it... As he lands on his head, his neck gets bent RIGHT back like over 90 degrees, blatently snapped neck / spine, then it springs back like it's just attached by skin / muscle and no bone...

R.I.P - they get paid a lot, but that's relative to the risks.

poor sod, i know its very high but you see loads of motorbike crash videos like that and higher where they survive with just broken bones etc.

in my opinion he shouldnt of tried to continue the backflip as he lost alot of airtime when it went wrong and he should of just bailed and tried to land on anything but his head.

i know its easier said than done but to me it looks like carrying on with the backflip is what cost him his life.

is this the guy that did that insane jump up and back down a huge biulding in vegas? either way RIP i hope he died instantly

Found this out last week, cant believe it! Watched all his jumps and each one was getting a little more sloppy on the landing the more he went on then this happened, great shame as he was one top rider!!!
