if you want 230bhp then you have NO option but to fit throttle bodies.
You'll need well over £6,000 in your wallet to build such an engine.

i could buy a c20let engine but 3 of my mates have them and they dont have any look with them, they spend more time in the garage than they do on the road, my other mates just done one payed £1200 for engine payed to have it fitted and it lasted no longer than 2weeks, but the c20xe engines take some stick before they go

any performance engine won't last long giving it stick, even pro engine's have to be re-build.
Personally i would got with the LET.
But it depends weather you want track car or a road/everyday use one?

its not just cams. you've asked one of the most worst questions, depending on engine spec depends on cams.
you WILL NOT be able to use it everyday and be reliable. a Clet is best option. clet + phase 2 or 3, and sorted near enuf
cam wise:
QED 450v's
QED 460's
Newman full race
Piper BP 320's
Catcams
Kent AST1516's
etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc
my xe has cost me £7k with ex/management. and i do all machine work, head work etc, and im looking at about 250bhp! so you are gona need to save a shit load of money and do some real research.
