hiya just wonderin can anybody help my car has a flat spot in all the gears just seems to lose power at bout 4epm then picks up again bout 5 n a half to 6rpm its realy annoyin so please any suggestions please let me no

have you checked for air leaks mate?
brake cleaner is good to check!
spray around throttel body ect.

also check timing,
your best bet is to check the aux belt pulley, the key holes wear

sell it ha ha ha what he means chaps is that it revs round to 4000rpm then takes its time to get to 5000rpm but when it gets there it picks up pretty quick trust me ive driven it lol its an x14xe with a mantzel style power box, piper x air filter, 4-2-1 branch manifold and a few other fancy bits. im sure i have seen it on here before does anyone reckonise it here is a picture of it


could it just need a re-map to ensure its benifiting from all the fancy bits that are on the engine cos i think it has alot more potential. or would it be worth saving up buying some cams, port + polish the head then think about having it remaped ???

what do you think chaps ???

is it a piper x cone filter? or panel?

i had i stupid flat spot and lack of low down torque with my crappy cone filter

airbox drilled and restrictor pipes removed with a K&N panel FTW

its a cone filter mate why does this make a differnce chap ???

It sure will. Cone filters are notorious for causing flat spots due to heat soak.

Trust me. I had a similar flat spot. Get hold of a standard airbox will almost definatly solve your issue

cheers m8 will get hold of one asap willing to try anything to get rid of that flat spot
