Need to check something with the TB on the 106, but its up on axle stands atm with one driveshaft out.

Would it be OK to start up without pishing gearbox oil everywhere?

well you dont wana run a dry gear box so no!
unless you get a mate to put hus foot on the clutch so you didnt use the gear box!

If its out of gear, there will be no turing of the gears anyway

If you are worried about it, you could always get somebody to sit in it and hold the clutch down the whole time its running - that way the gearbox won't see any of the drive from the engine anyway.

is neutral a gear?

and can't you just put the front cv' on the engine with no shaft?

the input shaft will be turning! dont risk running on a dry box.

Make sure it's not in gear.

I didn't a while back and the diff escaped through the casing

just put ya foot on the clutch and get over n done with
