It's on a little card in with the users manual normally.
Sometimes, if you lucky, it's written Iby hand by an owner) onto the unit.
More often than not, you have to 'phone Vaux and get them to give it to you

piratebay.org for the decoding program.
I had it until I wiped my PC, it's only a 2mb program and will be for loads of different cars.

Eh? Just put "Radio Decoder" into Piratebay and it will give you a list of different programs.
Really good thing, saves paying a tenner each time the battery goes flat.

Nic:
http://www.eserviceinfo.com/index.php?what=search
In the search box put "philips car 400" in there. I've just downloaded a program that claims it can produce a code. I have used similar programs with success from that website before

I have downloaded one (at the top of the list) called "Philips CAR 400.rar" that contains a unlocking program. Tells you which digits to put in from your serial number then generates a radio code for you.

Is the download address

Rumour has it if you put the serial number which can be found on the back of the stereo into Google, it will give you the code

rumour has it that the code sometimes is the last 4 mumbers of the chasis number aswell. although id rather not chance it. even if it is just a crappy std radio

I've got the software but you need the radio out to get the serial number.
Plus it doesn't work all the time - it didn't work for a CAR 300 for my mate because I think the radio was newer than the software.
u2u me the serial number when you take it out.
