Bought some bonnet lifters from: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=350162144746
They arrived today but the fitting instuctions are in German.
There are a few dimensions on some of the pics:
A hole 388mm down on the wing 20mm inwards. Doesnt state what size hole?
Also it shows a hole on the hinge part of the bonnet but doesnt say where it goes or what size it is?!
Someone please help!
Dont really want to drill random holes in the wings lol
Thanks

Theres no need to drill any holes iirc.
I'm sure theres a tut with pics on here somewhere that shows how to fit them.

Iv seen other photos so now no where they go
BUT...when undoing the bolt on each hinge the bonnet moved. So it will now not shut!
Spent about an hour without the lifters on trying to line and shut the bonnet and cant do it so have given up for today.
Any tips to get the bonnet actually shut? Its a bit hit and miss.
Absolute nightmare tho! Was planning on it being a piss easy job.

My mate got ones like that for his Astra but the bit they clip onto didn't fit right in the holes in the wing, so in the end a guy he knows who lives over the road filed down some washers to make it fit.
Right nightmare, we were expecting 10 minute job. Plus now they've gone proper rusty and it looks nasty. All scabby like
Oh yeah, we also had to loosen the wing off and move it over slightly and tighten it back up so that the bonnet would shut.

See how they go. They do the job atm. If they rust I will polish them up at work or just buy some different ones
Im guessing if I was to get different ones I could still use the existing fittings and just swops the struts?

Not sure how long it was, it was a couple of months ago so it was raining contantly as well which wouldn't have helped. He got them from LMF via eBay so it's probably the same ones. One thing that might help is if you spray some laquer on them You'd need to mask the bit that goes into the strut though, otherwise you might glue it together with paint, or it might make it too thick to go in the hole
