I found my cheque book at last.
Its brand new I never used cheques, ever.

But noticed on it that is has the date '24/08/2006' on the actual cheque.

Is it out of date?

If in doubt dont use it, for something as important as this LPC thing you really might want to make sure you arent rejected for some stupid thing as a cheque bouncing (plus if it bounces dont the bank charge you a £20 admin fee or something?)

Smooth

If the cheque has expired it probably wont matter if the funds are there, it may well still bounce

My cheque book is dated 30/01/2007. I've only ever used it after that date and every time it has worked. The last time was 07/01/2009.

You'll be fine but no harm in checking with the bank - could get a bankers draft for the Uni

it's only the date you write the cheque that can expire, not allowed to cash a cheque after a certain amount of time

the date the cheque book was issued isn't relevant
