i was looking at a LET top hat the other day and was just wondering if you could use one instead of a (expensive) power cap on a 20xe?

they are very slim in design and would help with the space issue on a converted corsa.

could it be done and would it be worth it?

it points the wrong way, and it really is far too slim to get enough air through it. it will cause a major restriciton.

i know it goes the wrong way but there is more space that way especially if you have relocated your battery.

lets run them as standard and they flow enough air for over 200bhp so that would be plenty for a normally aspirated xe, no?

im ok ive got an ecopipe but i was just looking and wondering, as you do.

i wouldnt pay £90odd quid for a powercap tho, i think theyre far too overpriced.

i has a GTE with a ecotec pipe, i cant see the point in a 'powercap' tbh
ecotec pipe does the job fine, its the same Diameter as the throttlebody anyways, so a cap with a huge opening on it will do feck all as the throttlebody restricts the air flow

well thats how i see it anyways

Edit: cant spell

power cap or eco adapter no difference in the power they give just one can be made shiny the other is a rubber pipe. your choice.

i prefer the rubber pipe tbh, cutting away the bulkhead to fit the powercap into a corsa also looks shit
